How to make a donation

I deeply appreciate your gifts and donations, no matter how large or small.

Donation: According to tax code, a “donation” implies a grateful exchange of work or service, and for these I am happily taxed (including 6% GST in Canada). If I have been of some help to you or your animal, and you wish to make a donation, click the "Make a Donation" button.

Gift: A “gift,” on the other hand, is given freely out of respect, affection, inspiration, or simple charity. It may be in honor of your pet’s birthday, or mine, or simply to help me help the animals. I pay no tax on gifts. If you would like to offer me a gift, or tithe, or some other form of monetary surprise to help me better be of service to those who cannot pay, please click the "Make a Gift" button.

Paypal: The two buttons above will enable you to send money via Pay Pal (no account required, credit cards and bank transfers accepted). I was sceptical of Paypal for years, but now that I’ve used it, it does seem to be a safe, consistent, and fairly effortless way to instantly transfer money across vast distances. Canadians familiar with internet banking can safely send money via email with Interac, if they prefer.

You can also simply mail a check to me. Please indicate (for my patient accountant) whether it is a gift or a donation:
