2008 Schedule
I’m thrilled to offer more teleclasses this year. I am finding the teleclass format to be quite superior to the traditional one or two day “in-person” workshops, as participants absorb and learn far more with so much more time to integrate and practice (and rest) in between classes. All of the “teleclass” workshops below (with the exception of the Living Service class) consist of four 1.5 hour conference call classes (with homework and practice in between). Class times will be chosen to accommodate participants’ busy schedules and various time zones. Classes are small, usually only 4-6 participants. We laugh a lot, practice with a LOT of animals, and let the animals teach. Please apply to take any of the following workshops NO LATER THAN ONE MONTH BEFORE the date of the class. Contact Calloway for an application form.
Animal Communication - An Introduction (teleclass).
Offered this year in February, April, June, September, and November. What should you expect from an animal communication workshop?
Animal Communication - I Want More (teleclass).
This workshop is for anyone who has taken the introductory course and wants more practice. It can be taken many times over. As your skills and confidence develop, I’ll encourage you to begin working one on one with individual animals, brainstorming with the group about how to handle different situations, and seeing what changes happen “on the ground.” Depending on the animals and the specific interests and abilities of the participants, we’ll practice using animal communication to help resolve interspecies household conflicts, provide helpful information during an animal’s illness, understand a traumatized animal’s emotional landscape, locate missing animals, handle end of life questions, etc., etc. And the animals will teach us relentlessly, of course, to be honest, accurate, humble, deeply self-aware, quiet of mind and bold of spirit! Offered this year in February, April, June, September, and November.
Animal Communication - I’m Not Quite Ready! (teleclass).
This is a new class I’ve developed for people who are interested in eventually learning animal communication, but who don’t feel they have enough of a relationship with their own senses, mind, or intuition to take the introductory course and jump into practicing with real animals just yet. It’s sort of like pre-school for animal communicators! I’ll introduce you to some non-threatening games and exercises to strengthen your relationship with your own amazing senses, quiet your mind, nurture your creativity, and show you how much you already know about telepathy. You’ll practice “sensing” and get to experience how you best receive information (emotional, visual, aural, physical, etc.) While the content of the course is quite rigorous, the tone is playful and supportive. All welcome. Offered this year in May and October.
Intuitive Healing - An Introduction (teleclass).
This course is for anyone interested in beginning to learn what the animals can teach us about the intuitive healing arts. We humans have strong (and usually contradictory) opinions about what healing is and how it is best performed. In my work with animals, I’ve been given many amazing glimpses into their perspective on our efforts to “heal” them. With the animals’ help, we’ll practice communicating directly with the illnesses and imbalances that plague ourselves and our animals and our world. We’ll practice listening, not beaming light or prescribing drugs or fixing or saving. Listening. This course is by far the most difficult I offer. The most fascinating. The most daunting. The most exciting. Perhaps the most urgently needed. Offered this year in May and October.
Intuitive Healing - I Want More (teleclass).
For those who have taken the introductory course and want to deepen their understanding and practice more. This course is offered by request only.
A Path of Living Service (teleclass).
This course asks us the question “What does it mean to live a life of true service?” We’ll read about some people who have unquestionably done so. We’ll explore our own gifts and our own resistance to offering them freely to the world. We’ll ask many questions that don’t have answers. We’ll laugh. We’ll cry. We’ll grow. We’ll resist growing. And again, we’ll laugh. We’ll look around at this world we’ve created and try to understand how each of us, unique and powerful and utterly intrinsic, can best be of use and deepest service. Expect to be inspired, and deeply challenged. Unlike the other courses, this one meets for 2 hours once a month for 12 months. Ongoing: new classes form as people are interested. (No animal communication experience or ability required.)
Please note: I do travel to teach traditional “in person” workshops. If you’d like to take one of the above workshops, but the teleclass format does not appeal, contact me about organizing a workshop in your area.
Animal Communication - An Introduction (teleclass)
What should I expect to “get” from this workshop?
The introductory class is enough for each of you to begin to experience the thrill, and the profound challenge, of animal communication. I will gently guide you through a process of opening to your own ability to understand the animals. What should you expect? Expect to settle yourself into a safe and relaxed workshop environment, close your eyes, and find yourself effortlessly conversing with animals you have never met before with utter confidence and fluency. Likewise, you should expect to close your eyes and find... a dull, silent and leathery void. Blank screen. Nada. You should expect to begin a conversation with a decrepit Pomeranian named Hugo, only to have him tell you his favourite pastime is hunting antelope. Or playing tennis. Expect to ask a cat named Belle how she feels and her reply to be a vivid close-up of a hairy blue spider laying eggs. Expect all of the above. All are likely, and all are part of the fun! Setting out to learn again to trust our subtler senses is a bit like setting out to ride a strange, headstrong horse with no saddle or bridle. Most of us fall off a lot! But the landing is very soft.
By the end of the course you should certainly expect to have gained a deeper, experiential understanding of what animal communication is all about. You’ll have tried your hand at communicating with a many animals you’ve never met, and you’ll have witnessed a “roomful” of other brave souls try the same. Even if your first few efforts are exasperatingly blurry, witnessing timid, uncertain Polly from Utah suddenly “break through” into her own abilities can be both thrilling and reassuring. The camaraderie of Level 1 groups can be wonderful.
Do I need to be an “animal person” to learn this?
Nope. Anyone wanting to exercise their intuition and deepen their relationship with their own amazing senses will enjoy, and be well stimulated by, the challenge of learning animal communication. Animals are simply wonderful to learn on. We know our pets personalities very well, so it is clear when someone’s “got it” and when their mind is wildly doodling. Say you ask a beagle who he is, and he shows you a picture of himself cowering while a large calico scratches his nose. When the dog’s person reports that he is indeed a timid soul, and that she does have a crotchety calico cat, you know that was “it.” You did it! When you first walk this path, those concrete, real life validations are simply euphoric, and very, very important.
Can ANYONE learn to communicate with animals?
Yes. I learned how to do this well after displaying no apparent natural ability at all! Many other professional animal communicators will tell you the same story. All humans have the necessary sensory apparatus in place to understand this ancient language. Any one who is sincerely open and wanting to learn, can be taught. Period. The ability to communicate with animals comes easily to some, and slowly to others. But all can learn.
How does a teleclass work?
We “meet” via conference call. I’ll give you all the call-in number (a US phone number-you’ll pay your normal long distance charges, or you can get an excellent phone card at www.Ohello.com or www.OntarioPhoneCards.ca) and passcode, and we’ll all call at the appointed time. You’ll also email photos of some animals you know well to the group (photos must be small resolution, 200 kb or less). During the classes I’ll talk and answer questions, then you’ll have the week in between to practice communicating with animals.
Is there anything I need to do to “prepare” for the workshop?
No. There are many books available about animal communication, but the risk of reading other communicators’ stories first is the overwhelming impulse to “copy” them as opposed to simply opening to your own remarkable inner landscape. At this stage I suggest you just come to the workshop eager for a new and wonderful experience. I will be available throughout the day to answer questions, and we will talk about various grounding/mind-quieting techniques and practices at the beginning of the workshop. Just come to the class as rested, well fed, and “present” as possible!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions I have not answered here!
